Diabetic Foot Care

Individuals with diabetes can suffer from neuropathy, which can result in a loss of feeling in the feet. This problem can impair oil production and sweat secretion, which will cause abnormal pressure on the joints, bones and skin while walking or standing. This can cause breakdown of foot skin, resulting in sores. If you have diabetes and notice a foot problem, you should seek treatment right away before they worsen.

If you are Diabetic, you should inspect your feet regularly, you can catch problems early and avoid serious issues. Changes in temperature, pain, skin color or swelling could be signs that you may be on the verge of serious foot problems. Diabetics should use extra care when caring for your feet. Wear clean, dry socks and avoid soaking your feet. Make sure your feet stay moisturized and don’t attempt to remove corns or calluses yourself.
