Gout

Gout is a form of arthritis. Most commonly, it occurs in the big toe. The symptoms include stiffness, joint swelling, burning pain and your toe may be warm to the touch. These attacks may occur repeatedly if you don’t seek proper treatment for gout. Left untreated, joints, tendons and tissues can be damaged by gout.

Too much uric acid in the blood causes gout. Men are more likely to suffer from gout. Those who are overweight, drink too much, or eat too much fish and meat that are high in purines are more likely to suffer from gout. Gout needs to be treated to avoid worsening symptoms and additional problems. If you are experiencing the symptoms of gout, call our office to schedule an appointment.
