Neuromas

An extremely painful condition, a neuroma can also be called a pinched nerve or a nerve tumor. A benign growth of nerve tissue often found between the third and fourth toes, it can cause tingling, a burning sensation, pain or numbness between the ball of the foot and the toes. Neuromas can have a major impact on mobility or quality of life.

If untreated, neuromas have the tendency to worsen. The treatment varies and is dependent upon the severity of the neuroma. Seeking treatment early is an approach that makes surgery much less likely. In severe instances, when the neuroma has been allowed to develop, it may require surgical correction.
